Angstrom Technologies’ Chemistry department specializes in identification, separation, and characterization of individual organic compounds and mixtures. We have identified unknown materials, done comparative analyses, developed methods of analysis, performed QC, and solved a variety of different types of problems for our customers. We are able to consult by phone, or at your facility to develop cost-effective solutions to your chemistry-related problems. We have a support staff with experience in both chemistry and engineering that is ready to not only identify and define the problem quickly, but will also work with your staff to solve the problem, and prevent it from happening in the future. When we perform an analysis, you will be provided with the collected data, as well as a detailed, interpretive analysis of both the problem(s) and the solution(s).
We offer the following types of chemical analysis:
- This technique is used to determine the absorbance of ultraviolet and visible light of a molecule, which will detect slight amounts of or variations in colors.
Fluorescence and Phosphorescence Spectroscopy
- These techniques detect and quantify the presence of fluorescent and/or phosphorescent compounds. The specific emission bands of individual componants of a mixture can be quantified also.
Angstrom chemists also perform a variety of wet chemical methods, including, but not limited to, Liquid-Liquid Extraction, Liquid-Solid Extraction, Vacuum distillation, Thin-Layer Chromatography, and Liquid Chromatography. We can also perform routine molecular modeling (Silicon Graphics IRIS workstation), and custom synthesis on a developmental scale.
